It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Michael (Mike) Flood, Ph.D. Mike joined Keller and Heckman as a Scientist in 1995, where he worked alongside the firm’s Environmental and Food and Drug practices until his retirement in 2014.
Prior to joining Keller and Heckman, Mike gained extensive regulatory experience working for both the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Mike served as a review chemist for FDA’s Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition, where he reviewed petitions for direct and indirect food additives. During his time at EPA, Mike evaluated data submitted by industry to establish tolerances for residues of pesticides on food. We are grateful that his agency experience led him to Keller and Heckman, where his notable ability to offer technical guidance proved to be an invaluable asset to our clients.
Mike will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him at Keller and Heckman. He was not just our colleague, but a beloved friend and mentor.
