On June 18, 2019, China’s National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment (CFSA) issued a notification soliciting comments on two food-contact materials (FCMs). The first is for expanded use of C.I. The second is for a new resin, Formaldehyde, polymer with 4-(1,1-dimethylethyl)phenol and bisphenol A (CAS No. 54579-44-1), to be used at a maximum level of 15% in coatings and coating layers, where the temperature does not exceed 130oC. In addition, the resin would not be used in contact with infant food and breast milk. The comments are due by July 11, 2019.
